We met the owner of this Chinese restaurant who immigrated to Puno from Fujian 10 years ago. The restaurant was quite busy with local people eating. The locals like to taste thing on the salty side so we had to ask the owner to be very light on the salt. She happened to the chief as well for tonight as a result of the cook did not show up. It had been a very long day for us. Woke up before 5:00 am and had been on the go ever since. Arrived at Puno and as we checked into our hotel, we were told that it was full for the night and our room was given to someone who had been sick due to the high altitude and could not leave. We were transferred to another hotel but that meant all our prior arrangements for the tour to Lake Titicaca would also need to be changed and we were afraid that due to translation problems, we may not get to the right tour in the morning. But the receptionist assured us that all will be sorted out in the morning. Our adventure continues ...
