Cahuachi pyramid

The most exciting discovery in recent times. This pyramid was unearthed since 1985 but lacking of interests and money, the Peruvian government decided not to do anything and let the religious site exposed to the element of nature until The Italian government decided to chip in the expertise and finance to support its excavation efforts. This site is massive - 25 square kilometers - and possibly dated far back as at least 3000 BC.  They have only excavated a very small % so far. When it is done ( which will take decades), it will be bigger and more significant than Machu Picchu. It was the Mecca of Nazca culture at that time and people from all over came here to worship and perform religious ceremonies. Not too many people are aware of Cahuachi and we were so glad to be first of the few to visit this site :)
