The Umeda Garden in the Sky was a surprisingly pleasant place to spend a few hours absorbing the panaromic view of the city. Sections and seat were provided for visitors to take in the view and, at the same time, enjoy the conversations with friends. We had a nice snack there as well.
We came back to Kobe via the Shinkansen (much less crowded than the regular express trains between Osaka and Kobe) and tried the famous Wagyu (Kobe) beef for dinner. This is by far the most anticipated meal of our trip as the price is much more than what we would normally consider for dinner. We must say that the quality of the meat did not disappoint us. It truly melts in your mouth! We tried both sirloin and tenderloin beef. Both were incredible. The chef cooked the entire meal in front of us, chopped to biting portions, and evenly divided the food to each plate. We had closed to 250g of beef in each order and felt really full at the end of the meal, partly due to the high fat content in the meat. The only regret was that dessert was not part of the course. The dinner knocked us down for $33,000 yen for two (close to CAD $400).
