Day 7 - July 24, 2017 Potosi, Bolivia

Besides missing the tour last entry for the Mint museum yesterday morning, we didn't have the chance to see any of the attractions on Richard's list because they were not open on Sunday. We thought we could make it up today but we were wrong again! The Convent San Francisco only offers 4 tours today and we just missed the 11a by the time we got there. Pretty upsetting! Oh well! It provide us with some excuses to come back in the future.

Wandering around the UNESCO Centro core is still very rewarding. There were tons of old colonial buildings that strokes your imagination about the opulence and glory they once possessed. We also came across a gate separating the city core from outside that offered a front seat view of Cerro Rico (Silver Mountain).

We chanced upon a panoramic viewpoint of the whole Potosi on top of Torre del Campania Jesus. We were actually surprised that they were not closed for siesta!

We caught the 4p bus to go to Uyuni, a four hour trip. We're going to join the 3 day Salar del Uyuni tour in the morning, one of the highlights of our trip.

  1. So nice, magnificent clear blue skies even in the winter time. So envious. Btw including the map is a nice touch.

  2. The map also serves as a good reminder for us. The sky is always blue and sunny. No rain yet. It gets cold really fast as soon as the sun sets at around 5:30 pm.
