Good bye Montreal

This has been an unique visit - we celebrated our 28th anniversary, revisited many places of our youth days and saw some of the friends who remained in the same city all these years as well as meeting my cousins and saw my uncle and aunt whom we had not seen since my childhood.

Montreal had changed so much since I left 28 years ago and despite my primitive years of growing up here, I felt like a stranger in this city. Given all the changes, I hardly recognized many places, including my own university!! The city also seems to be in perpetual construction. There are detours and road closures and festivals almost in every corner of the city. Traffics can be a nightmare, especially when you are in a hurry and the GPS points you to a dead end road due to construction.  I also found that, despite the language controversy, many people are willing to communicate in English which is a significant improvement compared to the past.

So until next time, good bye, Montreal. Thank you for all the good memories, old and new!!
